DESCRIPTION:October is cyber security awareness month so it’s a good time to learn a bit more about what kinds of cyber-crime and fraud issues are out there and\, more importantly\, what you can do to stay safe.   \nWith the help of Paul O’Brien from Bank of Ireland\, we’ll take a look at some real life examples of fraud and cyber-crime and how people have been caught out.  We’ll talk about the most common scams that you might come across when you’re online and we’ll look at what you can do to protect yourself.   \nPaul works in Bank of Ireland’s Security team and has over 10 years’ experience in a range of fraud and security areas.  One of his main jobs is in understanding current and new fraud and cyber security threats and using that information to promote awareness through sharing simple steps that everyone can take to protect themselves. \n  \nPlease register at the link below

SUMMARY:Caribbean Tall Ships Accessible Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Spinal Injuries Ireland has commissioned the SV Tenacious Tall Ship to lead a crew of 35 people of all abilities on the voyage of a lifetime. We will sail from the stunning location of Antigua around the nearby isles (where we will hopefully dock\, weather permitting)\, before heading back to Antigua before flying back home to Dublin. \n\nOur crew shall be made up of 8 people with a spinal cord injury\, their personal assistants\, and 19 further people from all backgrounds and abilities. No sailing experience is required; all that is needed is determination. There are no passengers on this Tall Ship though. Every person has a role\, every person is an equal member of the crew\, and every person contributes to the success of this voyage as part of a powerful team of individuals. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be supporting the Cauda Equina Syndrome Facebook Support Group organising an in-person get together in Athlone. \nThe afternoon session runs from 1.30pm to 5pm and is free to attend. \n1.30pm    Light lunch of sandwiches\, tea and coffee\n2.00pm    Coloplast nurse will be in attendance to give advice\, answer questions and demonstrate products\n2.45pm    Sharing Your Story Session – this is an opportunity to share your story\, ask questions and share information and tips\n3.30pm     A wellness session with Karen Stokes.  Karen Stokes is a wellness facilitator trained in child and adult wellness education. Karen specialises in gentle but effective wellness techniques designed to deal with stress\, anxiety\, depression\, fears\, anger\, and trauma.\n4.30pm    End of afternoon session \nThere is also the option to make a night of it and stay for dinner and/or overnight at a supplement.  There will definitely be a bit of craic to be had. \nA two course dinner of main course and dessert will cost €29 per person.\nOvernight in a single room\, bed and breakfast will cost €150 per person.\nOvernight sharing in a double or twin room will cost €100 per person. \nIf you would like more information or to book your spot please contact Hilary on 085 8584300 or email hilary@spinalinjuries.ie.
