October is cyber security awareness month so it’s a good time to learn a bit more about what kinds of cyber-crime and fraud issues are out there and, more importantly, what you can do to stay safe.
With the help of Paul O’Brien from Bank of Ireland, we’ll take a look at some real life examples of fraud and cyber-crime and how people have been caught out. We’ll talk about the most common scams that you might come across when you’re online and we’ll look at what you can do to protect yourself.
Paul works in Bank of Ireland’s Security team and has over 10 years’ experience in a range of fraud and security areas. One of his main jobs is in understanding current and new fraud and cyber security threats and using that information to promote awareness through sharing simple steps that everyone can take to protect themselves.
