What is the disability toll exemption scheme?

If your vehicle has been admitted to the core Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers Scheme you will qualify for the disability toll exemption scheme.

In operation since the 3rd of February 2020, the new Disability Toll Exemption Scheme (DTES) allows drivers of qualifying vehicles to travel toll free on all Irish roads. All you need is a qualifying DTES disc.

Only one application is needed under this new scheme but to qualify, your vehicle must be eligible for tax relief under the Drivers and Passengers with Disabilities Scheme.

To learn more about the rules of the scheme and apply for a DTES disc, simply visit the Disability Toll Exemption Scheme website today.

Note – If your vehicle is adapted and qualifies for tax relief but you have not applied for a DTES disc, you can still travel toll free by going to the manned toll booth and showing your tax disc.
