Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII) is Ireland’s only one-to-one support service for people with a spinal cord injury. We provide a range of professional evidence-based services and resources to help people and their families adapt to life after the devastation of a spinal cord injury. The assistance we provide to each service user is specific to the needs of the person and their families.
SII’s mission is to engage with people with a spinal cord injury and their family members, to address barriers to full participation in society and to empower Service Users to work towards achieving personal, social, and vocational goals.

Reporting to the CEO, and a member of the management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Resource Centre, HR management, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and governance principles.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONS
- Oversee day to day running of the Resource Centre, including managing all stock levels.
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders such as the HSE, Pobal, Charities Regulator, etc.
- IT systems, Data Protection, and ad hoc projects; supporting the implementation of new technologies as required.
- HR Administration, including management of HR database, recruitment, staff development, training, performance management, engagement, retention.
- Administration and reporting including Salesforce Reporting.
- Undertake projects and act as Project Manager for company projects as required.
- Secretarial assistance to CEO.
- Liaise closely with Finance Manager.
- Assist managers with HR, scheduling and rosters.
- Provide support to Services and Fundraising Teams as required.
COMPLIANCE
- Manage the Compliance function, to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and good governance principles, in line with the Charities Governance Code.
- Oversight and co-ordination of all regulator correspondence including regulatory reporting requirements, such as Charities Regulator, Companies Registration Office, Beneficial Ownership Register.
- Conduct regular reviews of upcoming regulatory requirements and report on overall compliance exposure to the Senior Management team and Board.
- Preparation of Board papers, including all sub-committees and AGM.
- Reviewing, implementing and obtaining Board approval for annual review of policies and procedures such as Staff Handbook, Board Handbook, Finance Policy, etc.
- Ensure companywide compliance with relevant policies & procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations.
- Manage the procurement process for all suppliers in line with HSE guidelines.
- Carry out regular risk-based assessment of compliance issues through control testing activities.
- Roll out compliance training to all employees and Board of Directors as required.
- Oversight of adherence to all applicable regulations.
- Reporting at Board, and Governance & Risk Committee meetings. Advisor to the Board on subject matters listed above.
- Acting as an advisor to the senior management team on key projects.
- Implementing and maintaining a compliance calendar, which was adopted by the Senior Management Team, to monitor regulatory reporting submissions and notifications in a timely manner.
- Assisting in drafting regular Compliance Function report to the Board.
- Act as a central point of contact for all Data Protection requests. Provide advice to management and Board on Data Protection requirements, scope and application.
Person Specification & Key Skills
- Relevant third level qualification with at least 3 years’ experience in similar role.
- A highly organised team player with proven decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Experience liaising with key stakeholders and other organisations.
- Commitment to the objectives of SII.
- Proficient use of computers and social media.
- Multi-tasker and solution driven.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness, flexibility and ability to take initiative.
- Proven track record in creativity in tackling projects.
- Salesforce experience desirable.
- HR Locker experience desirable.
- Car and full, clean driving license. Must be willing to travel if required.
